"I still paint, but what brings me to painting is not the fact of painting. It's the behavior that leads me to do it. Slippages, errors, constructions. "
Fabrice Hybert, also known by his pseudonym Fabrice Hyber, is a multifaceted French artist. His art proceeds by accumulation, proliferation and hybridization, operating in constant shifts between the fields of drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, video, etc. A series begun in 1986, his "homeopathic paintings" are vast pieces depicting involved investigations where drawings, writing, and equations are synthesised. His works, which approach scientific reflection, place particular emphasis on the mysterious relationship between body and mind. In each creation, the artist leaves open the question of his wishes, his desires, his propositions, and the answer he seeks.
