Georgia Russell works with surgical precision, diverting the scalpel from its medical function to an artistic tool. To achieve her three-dimensional paper works, she very meticulously cuts scores, drawings, journals, and photographs, sometimes even entire books, transforming conventional objects into fantastic works of art. She gets her materials from second-hand shops or antique shops. Discarded, these objects tell a personal story, and the information they contain makes tangible times long gone.
