Visual photographer, Luzia Simons has been working on the theme of plants for many years. Beyond an evocation of Dutch Baroque still lifes, her images also refer to the ambivalence of globalization and evoke the Dutch "tulipomania" of the 17th century, the capitalistic rush of which refers to very current reality. Her still lifes with flowers, which she likes to print in large format, are the result of a scanning technique that she has developed and that she continues to perfect as if to always better enter into the very material of flowers, try to touch the flesh.
