" When I dress up and film myself, it's not me. If I'm talking about my character, I say 'he', I wouldn't think of saying 'I'."
French video artist Pierrick Sori makes short films and visual devices in which he makes fun of human existence and artistic creation. Adept at self-filming, he is often the sole actor in the stories he invents. Sorin handles the video by casting a caustic and poetic look at the faults of society. In his work, he brings into play the viewer's gaze, which alternates between bursts of laughter and uneasy awareness. He treads the banality of everyday life, new technologies, cinema and television, psychoanalysis, but above all contemporary art and the figure of the artist.
